Hello Again

So now I must understand the complexities of this life.

Let go of all the negative, and focus on the positive.

He that understands himself, understands life.

We are consumed with the material, and spend the least time with our spiritual.

Life must go on, so we do as well, most of the time, in the same fashion, expecting different results.

We go on.

Many of us are living a lie, and wonder why they are miserable.

Lies are a big part of society now, and the truth may just be too unbearable for most.

Still we live on!

Hello everyone,

My name is BrianCobb, and the topic of my podcast is-Continuing Education: Going back to school at any age.

I would like to introduce you to the idea of continuing education, no matter what age you might be. Sometimes we make choices we are not proud of, and sometimes we make choices that change our life forever. Going back to school is one of those choices I have made that has certainly changed my life forever. Returning back to school has allowed me to focus on the important things in life instead of the things I cannot change. I love learning new concepts and definitions, and can appreciate the work assignments, from my classes, as they too have taught me how to research, and investigate. Life is a balance and it is about choices; evaluating values, morals, and ethics as your life evolves, you grow older, and society changes. How we choose these roads in life can be directly affected within these choices. Continuing to grow mentally, spiritually, and humanely can only be a good thing for us all. Education, expanding knowledge, and willing to listen to new and different idealisms can only lead to bigger and brighter horizons.
One important thing to remember is this: You are never too old to learn something new.
Age is a number, and true age is in the mind, so if you think you’re too old, then you probably are. There was a time when I did not think I would live to see 40, and as such I did not really prepare. Now that I am in my 40's I am now realizing that I am younger than ever (in my mind) and anything is still possible, as far as what I can accomplish. Returning back to school was the beginning for me, and now there are so many other accomplishments I am going after, and I am having the time of my life.

Thank you!!

Continuing Education after 40

My decision to return back to school came at a time when I had lost all hope of ever getting ahead in my career. My hopes and dreams kept getting farther and farther away, and it was almost like living a nightmare. As soon as I would get to a certain level, the opportunities would stop. I did not have that piece of paper that qualifies me to continue up the ladder of success. Not even proving I could do the job mattered, and it almost seemed like I was doomed.

After careful analysis, I was not doomed after all, merely weakened, by the fact that I had not finished what I started years ago, and that was obtaining at least a Masters Degree. Recently I was laid off, and it hurt, however it woke me up to the fact that, I can do something about my situation instead of always talking about it. I enrolled and will be graduating this November 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Communication. The road was not easy, however was so worth it. I would not trade this experience for the world. Something tells me this is happening for a reason, and maybe this is when I should be getting this done.

My hope is to continue as long as I am able to. My priorities are in somewhat of a good place right now, so let’s see how it goes. As for me, I can truly say that returning back to school is like a breath of fresh air, where the air is fresh like a cool spring morning in the mid-west. I always recommend trying it, even if it is just one class, of interest, and see if you too can smell the fresh air, as I did.
